Through the generous support of the Scotiabank, the Centre for Research on Violence Against Women and Children is able to offer one student internship annually, to an eligible full-time undergraduate or graduate student at the University of Western Ontario. This student, selected by the community organization, will work together on a project that has been designed by the organization.
The student intern is awarded $5,000 and the collaborating agency is awarded $2,150.

Expectations for Students
Students who are awarded a Scotiabank internship are expected to assist with an action-research project sponsored by an agency working to end violence against women and children. Work on a project may take place during the academic year or during the summer break. The sponsoring community agency will set out appropriate timelines for the project.
A final report summarizing project activities and pertinent recommendations will be written in collaboration with the sponsoring organization. This report is due within 30 days of completion of the project.
Expectations for Organizations
Organizations who become sponsors for a research intern will provide ongoing direction and supervision for the intern. The organization will keep the Community Development Coordinator apprised of progress on the project. The organization will develop and communicate timelines for the project.
A final report summarizing project activities and pertinent recommendations will be written in collaboration with the research intern. This report is due within 30 days of completion of the project.
